Business Development Officer
Allied Asset Advisors, Inc. (AAA) AAA is the Investment Advisor to the Iman Fund (Fund) and is a subsidiary of the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT). It is located in Burr Ridge, a Chicago suburb.
The Fund: The Iman Fund (symbol: IMANX) is a no-load mutual fund established in June 2000 that invests in a portfolio of over 100 Shariah compliant companies in diverse business sectors. It meets the needs of Muslim investors, who not only want to have a financially rewarding investment, but a Shariah compatible one as well. The Fund does not invest in interest-paying securities. It is available directly from the Advisor and at Charles Schwab One Source, Ameritrade, Scottrade, and TD Waterhouse. It offers various IRA's and employers-sponsored accounts, as well as shareholders services including telephone purchase and redemption, and check writing.
Responsibilities: The selected candidate shall be principally responsible for marketing the Fund, investors' relations, coordinating with third-party service providers and maintaining the Fund's web site. Marketing the Fund to the American Muslim communities will require field visits to Islamic centers and attending regional and national Islamic conferences.
Qualifications: The candidate shall have good interpersonal and analytical skills, be well acquainted with Muslim religious obligations and practices, self-motivated, able to make presentations to prospective investors, well disciplined, able to work under pressure, proficient in word processing and spreadsheet; and demonstrate understanding of the American Muslim community.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with the stock market, basic Islamic investment parameters, and have reasonable financial skills. A Bachelors degree and a legal status in the United States (citizen, permanent resident or work visa holder) are required. Some experience in financial organizations is desirable.
